How to correctly measure the diameter of titanium rods?

Titanium alloys in titanium alloy rods can be divided into three categories based on their phase composition: α Alloy( α+β) Alloy and β Alloys are represented by TA, TC, and TB in China. The caliper can be installed at the outlet of the forging machine, and the straightness can be installed behind the straightening machine.


Titanium rod manufacturer φ Taking 30-200mm titanium rod detection as an example, for diameters not greater than φ A 50mm titanium rod is measured using a single probe, and for outer diameters greater than φ 50- φ A 200mm titanium rod is measured using dual probes. The transmitting and receiving lenses of the dual measuring heads are installed on a linear guide slide driven by a servo motor. The spacing between the measuring heads can be automatically adjusted according to the specifications of the titanium rod, and the measurement accuracy remains unchanged after adjustment.


The caliper system mainly consists of a caliper and a control system. The control system includes a control cabinet, industrial computer, display, sound and light alarm, etc. Due to the high temperature of the titanium rod, components such as a high-pressure centrifugal fan and air filtration device are installed to cool the inside of the diameter measuring instrument.


The caliper is installed at the outlet of the forging machine. When the titanium rod is rotated and pulled out of the forging machine, the caliper measures the outer diameter of the titanium rod. When the outer diameter of the titanium rod exceeds the set tolerance range, the sound and light alarm will automatically sound and light.


When the diameter of the titanium rod is not greater than 50mm, use a single probe in the middle position to measure the outer diameter of the titanium rod; When the diameter of the titanium rod is greater than 50mm, use a spacing adjustable dual probe for measurement. As the diameter of the titanium rod forging decreases, it is necessary to adjust the spacing size of the probe.


The diameter measuring instrument can detect diameter and straightness, and complete the size detection of titanium rods with a large span range through the combination of measuring heads, with high measurement accuracy.


In addition to diameter measurement, a straightness measuring instrument can also be installed to detect straightness dimensions online, achieving high-quality production.
